Today, the growing pressure on referees threatens not only their safety, but also the very future of sport. Despite their indispensable role, referees are absent from the decision-making bodies and sports policies that regulate competitions.

At the end of the debate, Paul Standaert, President of the District Belgium of Panathlon International, will offer further reflections on the importance of promoting respect for referees as part of PI's ethical vision.

Paris, 22 September – The President of the District France of Panathlon International, Marc Rozenblat, accompanied by International Past President Pierre Zappelli, met with the Secretary General of the French National Olympic Committee (CNOSF), Cédric Gosse, in Paris.

This was the first official meeting between PI and CNOSF, a significant moment of dialogue and rapprochement. Although CNOSF President Amélie Oudea Castera was unable to attend due to urgent commitments, Evelyne Ciriegi, President of the CNOSF Regional Committee and the Club Paris, was present at the meeting.

During the working lunch, Gosse, who also holds the position of President of the French Triathlon Federation, expressed keen interest in the Panathletic movement. The conversation focused in particular on the relationship between Panathlon International and the French Fair Play Committee, highlighting how the two organisations pursue different but complementary objectives, paving the way for possible synergies.

A key element that emerged from the meeting was the prospect of future collaboration on common issues, with the aim of promoting the ethical and cultural principles of sport.

The mission concluded with an official presentation at the CROSIF (Ile de France Regional Olympic Committee), where Panathlon's activities and values were illustrated through a series of slides that aroused great interest and numerous requests for further information.

With this meeting, the District France of Panathlon International laid the foundations for structured collaboration with the French Olympic movement, strengthening its presence and role as a promoter of the universal values of sport.

From 1 October to 31 December 2025, Panathlon International will host Alexandros Brousiakis, a student at the Hellenic Open University in Greece, at its International Headquarters as part of the Erasmus+ programme.

Alexandros, who has a degree in Economics and is currently enrolled in a Master's programme in Sports Management, brings with him enthusiasm, team spirit and problem-solving skills.

Passionate about the world of sport, he is eager to put his skills into practice and contribute to new projects.

We welcome Alexandros and wish him a fruitful and stimulating experience!

Estuvimos presentes en la apertura de los Torneos Masivos Intercolegiales de las regiones 7 y 8 con las profesoras Viviana Notaro y María Jose Castagna, con nuestra bandera del Juego Limpio y la Carta del Fair Play que se leyó para los jovenes deportistas participantes. Comenzaron con basquet, luego atletismo, handbal y voley.

On 25 September, Giorgio Chinellato President of Panathlon International and Prof. Silvia Camporesi of MAiSI signed an important collaboration to promote the implementation of academic studies into sport at grassroot level. More on this later in next edition of the Panathlon magazine.

On the afternoon of 24 September 2025, MEP Lara Magoni met with Panathlon International President Giorgio Chinellato and International Board member Fabiano Gerevini in Brussels. The meeting took place at the European Parliament, where Magoni is currently engaged in institutional activities.

During the meeting, crucial issues were discussed, such as the role of sport in promoting ethical and social values at a global level, with particular attention to the phenomenon of hikikomori. This is a profound, often invisible, disorder that affects adolescents and young adults, leading to social and educational isolation.

Panathlon International stressed the importance of addressing this issue with concrete and coordinated responses at international level. Lara Magoni confirmed her commitment to bringing the issue of hikikomori to the attention of the European Parliament's Committee on Culture, Education, Youth and Sport, so that it can be addressed with appropriate tools in youth policies.

The meeting represents a significant step in the collaboration between Panathlon International and the European institutions, with the aim of promoting the positive values of sport as a tool for prevention, inclusion and rebirth for those experiencing isolation and fragility.

Panathlon Club Minas conjuntamente con el apoyo del Gobierno Departamental, desarrollamos el Conversatorio "El deporte como puerta de entrada a la inclusión para personas con discapacidad".

Las(os) disertantes invitadas(os) fueron por Panathlon la Mtra. Directora María del Huerto Ocampo y la Mtra. Esp. Nilda Guerrero mientras que en nombre del gobierno departamental disertaron la Mg. Yliana Zeballos Directora General de Familia y Mujer y la Lic. Carina Soria  Directora General de Servicios Sociales, se sumó de manera virtual el Director de Deportes de la IDL el Prof. Ignacio Gutierrez.

Entre el numeroso público asistente contamos con la presencia de la Senadora de la República Esc. Alexandra Inzaurralde y la Diputada Nacional y ex Intendenta Dra. Adriana Peña.

Luego de las interesantísimas exposiciones y anuncios de las(os) disertantes se abrió el espacio propiamente de Conversatorio con el público asistente que estuvo conformado por familias y atletas que transitan día a día las limitaciones de la discapacidad, pero también por docentes de primaria, secundaria, Utu y del Instituto de Educación Física.

Aportes de las autoridades nacionales, deartamentales, de los docentes, de familiares con personas con discapacidad y testimonios de atletas especiales, resulto muy enriquecedor para todos los presentes.

Se comentaron las políticas desarrolladas antes y los logros alcanzados y se conocieron los proyectos que anuncian las nuevas autoridades departamentales.

Muy destacado fueron los testimonios de dos docentes que viajaron desde Tacuarembó, expresando el interés por conocer la realidad de nuestro departamento y el comentario de que advertían que en Lavalleja estarían más desarrolladas las politícas de inclusión deportiva que en su territorio.

Más de dos horas de intercambio de información y testimonios sumamente estimulantes y valiosos.

Para el Panathlon también resultó una oportunidad de trabajo en equipo porque participamos panathletas de Club Minas y Maldonado Punta del Este, caso del Prof Yamandú Acosta.

Vendredi, 5 septembre, l’École primaire Émile Bockstael à reçu le label École Fair-Play.

Les élèves ont présenté avec enthousiasme les activités qu’ils ont menées tout au long de la semaine autour du thème du Fair-Play.

À l’école de Bockstael, l’inauguration s’est déroulée en présence de :

À cette occasion, le relais du Fair-Play a été transmis à Madame Maïté Pauwels, enseignante de l’École primaire des Magnolias, qui lancera sa semaine du Fair-Play le 8 septembre.

Parce que le Fair-Play commence dès la cour de récréation, continuons ensemble à construire des écoles et des élèves sensibles au Fair-Play !

Evento promovido pelo Panathlon Clube de Lisboa decorreu 100 por cento online e teve, ao longo do fim de semana, A BOLA como parceira

Terminou a 4ª edição do maior evento internacional sobre a Ética e a Integridade no Desporto, promovido pelo Panathlon Clube de Lisboa, para toda a comunidade lusófona, envolvendo cerca de 100 oradores, que partilharam o conhecimento e as suas práticas nas 5 conferências, 5 mesas redondas e 13 workshops, tendo a assistir uma média de 500 participantes por sessão, sendo que durante os dias 12, 13 e 14  de setembro, passaram pelo evento, transmitido em formato online, cerca de 2000 participantes, oriundos de Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Guine-Bissau, Moçambique, Portugal, São Tomé e Príncipe e Timor Leste.

O último dia do Ética Summit 2025, começou com uma mesa redonda sobre a problemática «Corrupção e gestão desportiva», onde se identificaram diversas abordagens adotadas pelos diferentes países lusófonos, sendo unânime a opinião dos oradores que neste âmbito, apesar das medidas e boas práticas existentes, será muito importante «continuar a apostar num modelo de governança que assegure a qualidade e a eficiência dos processos de prevenção, denúncia, responsabilização e punição dos agentes passivos e ativos da corrupção». Ficou ainda o desafio de um maior espírito colaborativo entre as organizações e dos países da CPLP. os quais «devem colocar o Desporto, como uma das prioridades estratégicas e políticas».

Nesta jornada, outro dos temas de debate centrou-se nos «modelos de segurança e cooperação no Espaço Lusófono», com destaque para a convenção de Saint-Denis e no que concerne às questões relacionadas com a segurança integrada no desporto, com a hospitalidade e experiência do adepto, com a gestão de multidões e formação para a segurança e ainda com a problemática sobre a violência no desporto. Nesta temática, foi possível ouvir os testemunhos e contributos de diversos especialistas que explanaram todos os aspetos que estão associados às estratégias de enquadramento, de planeamento e de operação relacionado com a segurança dos espetáculos desportivos. Apesar do caminho a trilhar neste âmbito, os especialistas presentes no debate, evidenciaram que «Portugal está muito à frente de diversos países europeus em relação às medidas e diferentes iniciativas que estão a ser tomadas para o avanço das questões de segurança proteção e serviços».

A última temática abordada neste evento foi a «A dopagem não intencional», nas suas diversas vertentes de abordagem, desde a forma como devemos diferenciar e categorizar as situações decorrentes de ingestão de substâncias ilícitas por parte de atletas que desconheciam o processo ou que não tinham a intenção deliberada para os efeitos, até aos mecanismos de prevenção e de responsabilização que são aplicados nestas situações. Os especialistas presentes neste painel concordaram com a «necessidade de se reforçar a consciencialização e a capacitação dos "atores" para a complexidade do problema», para o qual devem as organizações adotar todo o tipo de estratégias para controlar e impedir casos desta natureza.

Debateu-se ainda as questões relacionadas com a suplementação ilegal, quer no contexto desportivo federado, quer nos ginásios e academias, onde a perspetiva de intervenção é ligeiramente diferente nos países lusófonos. Em Portugal «existe regulamentação formal para o efeito, todavia a fiscalização nem sempre funciona da forma desejada».

No final decorreu a cerimónia de encerramento, onde estiveram presentes, para além do Presidente da Comissão Executiva do Ética Summit - Fábio Figueira e do Presidente do Panathlon Clube de Lisboa - Mário Almeida, o Presidente do Comité Olímpico de Portugal - Fernando Gomes, Presidente da Rede de Escolas com Formação em Desporto do Ensino Superior Politécnico Público (REDESPP) - Rui Mendes, Presidente do Conselho Federal de Educação Fisica do Brasil (CONFEF) - Claudio Boschi e ainda o Presdiente do Panathlon Internacional Distrito do Brasil - Pedro Souza.

De um modo geral existiu concordância pela importância que o Ética Summit assume na atualidade e pelo reconhecimento do contributo que assegura em prol da promoção da ética e da integridade no Desporto.

Fábio Figueira destacou que ao fim de quatro edições, o Ética Summit teve mais de 11.000 participações, cerca de 400 oradores, mais de 700 organizações e entidades a apoiar esta causa, no compromisso com a ética no Desporto

The meetings of the International Board and the PI President’s Committee, held on 10 and 12 September in person and online, focused on strategic issues for the future of the Movement.

At the international level, they confirmed the participation in RelazionExpo in Verona (26 October) with a round table and presentations dedicated to PI and partner projects. The IB also welcomed the joint declaration, supported by the PI, of Kärnten-Alpe Adria, Area 12 Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Slovenija for the promotion of shared values, the possibility of relaunching and extending the Caregiving Expo L.104 project at European level and, with great satisfaction, authorised the reopening of the District Chile thanks to the establishment of the new Valdivia Club.

Ample space was also given to training and communication: a training plan for all positions, refresher courses for the Secretariat and a video aimed at clubs to strengthen their common identity are currently being studied. Meanwhile, the second issue of the new PI Magazine, translated into six languages with the support of the AI, will be the subject of a survey aimed at members to verify its suitability.

The European University Sports Association's proposal to collaborate on the European Week of Winter Sport was welcomed, while attention is already turning to the “Musketeers” conference (Milan, February 2026), where PI will speak on the ethics of artificial intelligence. The process of including the Ethics Commission in the Statutes has also been initiated and the commemorative badge for the 75th anniversary of the Movement has been approved.

There were also updates on the Clubs: the closure of the Le Cannet-Rocheville Club was regretfully acknowledged, while the opening of the Santo Domingo PC was celebrated.

Finally, the Board thanked the Board members for their commitment to their duties and confirmed its desire to strengthen the international network by spreading the values of Panathlon through increasingly broad and concrete initiatives.
